Who we are
Our story starts with a simple sandwich and a deep-rooted tradition of compassion.
Our founder, Dale Reid Jr grew up watching his grandparents quietly and consistently show up for people in need. His grandmother started the local food bank in their hometown, and Dale Jr often witnessed the profound impact a warm gesture and a full stomach could have on someone’s life. That early exposure to generosity and service left a lasting impression.
Years later, Dale Jr. felt called to follow in their footsteps. He began making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on the weekends and handed them out to people experiencing hunger and homelessness. What started as a small act of kindness soon became a family effort - and then a community one. friends joined in, neighbors pitched in supplies, and before long, this informal weekend project grew into an official nonprofit.
Today, we continue to bring people together to prepare and distribute simple, nourishing meals - mostly sandwiches - for those who need them most. We believe in the power of showing up, of sharing food and dignity, and of turning care into action.
We rely on volunteers to prepare and distribute food, and on donations to provide the ingredients and supplies that make it all possible. Together, we’re carrying on a legacy of love, one sandwich at a time
